Live Pterosaur

Welcome to "Live Pterosaur"

Revolutionary as they seem, the ideas presented in this "Live Pterosaur" site relate mostly to eyewitness accounts: real-life encounters with creatures called “prehistoric” or “pterodactyl-like.” Expect few references to fossils. Enter these pages with an open mind and compare points of view. Whether you consider yourself an evolutionist or creationist, or just a curiositist, you might find yourself sympathizing with at least one of the ideas. If you leave this site disbelieving in living pterosaurs, however, know that some people do believe in living pterosaurs: Intelligent, educated people can disbelieve in total extinction of pterosaurs. And the investigations that changed their beliefs are for real: expeditions and analysis of the results of those expeditions.

These pages differ from other sites on living pterosaurs. A Live Pterosaur page may have two eyewitness accounts for comparison. You decide how they relate. Another page may have two or three points of view on the same data. You decide what to believe about eyewitnesses and expeditions. Isn’t that approach better?

Early expeditions to find live pterosaurs
"'There is more in heaven and earth . . . than is dreamt of in your philosophy.' There is more purpose in the universe and more life in a forest than is taught from a textbook. To those who've seen a live pterosaur, 'extinction' pales before experience. Truth emerges." JDW
Coming to know what species of pterosaurs still live and also coming to understand the great abundance of life and the limits of old extinction ideas—that is the purpose of Live Pterosaur.

Pterosaur (June 8, 2007)
"A prehistoric-looking creature flies over an island

Although the above four press releases were all written by the same author (Jonathan D. Whitcomb), the sources were various eyewitnesses, in various parts of the Southwest Pacific, of what seem to be extant pterosaurs ("pterodactyls")
The above references do not suggest all accounts of "dragons" come from human encounters with pterosaurs or dinosaurs. But many of the accounts can be explained by human encounters with those "ancient" creatures.

The above references to explorers and scientists do not imply that most scientists believe in extant pterosaurs. As of
early 2008, Western standard models continued holding dogmatically to universal ancient-extinction of the creatures.
But a few Americans, mostly creationists, firmly declare that eyewitness evidences point to one or more extant species. Paul Nation, Jonathan Whitcomb, Garth Guessman, David Woetzel, Cliff Paiva, and others believe that they still live.
