Youtube Again: “Were Dragons Real?”

ropen-pterodactyl on left; small child surprised on right - thumbnail of a video about dragons

By cryptozoologist Jonathan Whitcomb

We continue a recent trend of introducing a new Youtube production about these wonderful flying creatures. This week it’s a short music video that touches on the possibility that not everything about ancient dragon legends is completely fictional.

Near the end of “Were Dragons Real?” is an invitation for people in India to make comments on the video. Why India? Over the past sixteen years, I recall only one person who ever contacted me about a sighting of an apparent pterosaur in that nation, and as I recall, it was a second-hand report from the child or grandchild of the eyewitness.

I did mention other countries where the flying creatures have been reported:

  • The Philippines
  • Australia
  • (India)
  • Sudan
  • Namibia
  • Spain
  • The Netherlands
  • England
  • Cuba
  • Mexico
  • The United States
  • Canada

This latest video (I uploaded it today) is by far the shortest one on my channel Protect Animal Life, at just two minutes and five seconds long. Watch it from right here:

Pterosaur sighting in Cuba

It took more than two weeks of hard work to complete the 16-minute video, but I wanted it to have both the quality and length that would honor Patty.

.

Pterosaur sightings in the Philippines

I was just about 11 or 12 then when I saw it. I saw the flying creature here in Las Pinas, Philippines near our house . . . this large creature flew about 5 storeys somewhere above me.

.

Pterodactyls in Australia

This sighting of a “giant” pterosaur was north of Brisbane, Australia.

.

Pterosaur sighting in Spain

[It] passed right over us, probably about 30-40 ft high, and as I watched it, I realised it was definitely no owl I’d ever seen before. It was the colour of suede/sand . . .

Video: Pterosaur Sightings in California

The following is a paranormal-educational music video: “Giant Pterodactyl in California” (uploaded to Youtube on May 4, 2019]

Sightings of huge living pterosaurs in California

Please share the above link with family, friends, relatives, and anyone who might enjoy a different kind of music video.

Most of the encounters were in Southern California, and in almost all of them the eyewitness contacted me directly. In other words, this is not a cheap shock video with anecdotes or fake video clips; it’s a serious mini-documentary (only about four minutes long) in music-video format (no voice-over narration).

It briefly covers seven encounters with some of the largest flying creatures reported in California. Take that in context: I’ve received dozens of credible eyewitness sighting reports from the Golden State, over the past 15 years.

Most of the seven sightings were in Southern California, with one in Fairfield (northeast of San Francisco) and one in Central California (by the late cryptozoologist Scott Norman).

Giant Pterodactyl in California

Today I uploaded a four-minute music video to Youtube, a mini-documentary on seven sightings of these flying creatures in California.

Dragon Pterosaurs in Southern California

For at least the second time in the past nine months, somebody has reported a flying “dragon” in Los Angeles County. I don’t know that they are the same species, but a few similarities deserve attention here . . .

Neither the man nor his wife had any previous interest in cryptozoology, not in the slightest. Nothing in the lady’s discussions gave me any sign of any mental health problem or over-active imagination.

30 feet long, with 15-16 feet of that being a tail. He saw the creature fly “at low altitude,” in front of his car, over the road (Campus Drive), into the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary, in daylight. [Irvine, Orange County, California]

Cliff Paiva ropen light report, part one

Plate 22 in Cliff Paiva reportCliff Paiva, a missile defense physicist, examined the video footage Paul Nation recorded in the late-2006 expedition on the mainland of Papua New Guinea. Paiva conducted his study from December, 2006, until about late February, 2007, and eventually came to a number of conclusions regarding the two lights in the video.

See Pterosaur Sightings in Papua New Guinea, “blur function diameter”

Rather than quote many technical details, here are some conclusions from part of the page-three ropens.com “report” site:

The above processed images (of the two glowing forms videotaped in the remote interior of Papua New Guinea) show that there are indeed two sources of light. Each is about one meter in diameter. . . . They are not fires because the center of the light is less intense (in both lights): very unlike a camp fire. Neither light is moving, so they are not meteors or airplane lights. The lights are not artificial mistakes inside the camera (artifacts): They are real. After sophisticated image-processing and analysis, the video does not appear to be anything produced by a hoax.

The indava lights (probably made by creatures similar to the ropen of Umboi) videotaped by Paul Nation were probably make by the same species as those responsible for the lights seen by Evelyn Cheesman decades earlier. See Ropen Lights Seen By a Biologist.
