Live Pterosaur

More about the explorers

The most active American explorer in Papua New Guinea has been Paul Nation. By mid-2007, he had been on four expeditions (1994, 2002, 2006, and 2007); on three of those, he was the leader or primary searcher. Paul has worked with ratites (large flightless birds like the ostrich), and is skilled with caring for the eggs and young of ostriches, so he was chosen for the 2004 expedition.

Other explorers include Carl Baugh (head of the Creation Evidence Museum in Glen Rose, Texas), Jonathan D. Whitcomb (a forensic videographer), Garth Guessman (a firefighter), David Woetzel (who has also explored in Africa, hunting the Mokele-Mbembe), and Paul's son, Nathanael. Jim Blume (an American missionary living in Papua New Guinea) has helped a great deal.
