Indoors, page 2: Cultural Aspects
Whitcomb Family Daycare, in accordance with government recommendations, displays photos of children from around the world. These photos show kids, from other countries, wearing clothing different from the clothes worn by kids in the child care. This can help your child learn that we are both different and the same as other people of the world.
In general, there's been a good cultural representation in the Whitcomb Family Daycare. The children are of a variety of races and ancestral backgrounds, including some children with blended family ancestry. Each child is treated with respect, for each has the same worth.
Sometimes the music or stories reflect cultural differences. This atmosphere encourages open
minds in the little ones: a great way to promote ideas for peace
in a future world they will inherit.
