It’s check to the black king. But wait . . . this is no ordinary check: It’s a double check. Both the white queen and the white knight check the black king. A double check can only be answered with a king move and here there are two choices: The king can move to the left (to the e8 square) or to the right (the g8 square). Where should black move his king?
