Second Eyewitness of Lakewood Pterosaur

Another eyewitness has come forward, answering my questions about what she observed flying near a storm channel in Lakewood, California. This was within about 70 yards of the June-2012 sighting and around two years earlier, or about mid-2010. But the earlier sighting was at 11 p.m. and the flying creature was further away from the eyewitness, perhaps 100 yards away.

I believe that these two encounters were with the same species, maybe even the same individual animal. I also believe that the Lakewood flying creature is related to the ropen of Umboi Island in Papua New Guinea, what appears to be a “basal” Rhamphorhynchoid pterosaur. Both the 2010 and 2012 sightings were connected by the word “dragon.”

The second sighting (2012) was reported to me within hours of the encounter. The first sighting (2010) was reported to me in July of 2013, after the eyewitness learned about the first sighting. She had remained silent about her encounter for three years, for fear that nobody would believe her; after all, it was late at night and at a distance.

The eyewitness in the sighting of 2010 said, “I saw what I took as a large bird with a wing span of around 4-6 feet that had an erratic gate to its flying.” That appears to me to be common in sightings of what turn out to be likely-pterosaurs: The eyewitness at first assumes it is a bird, for it’s flying; only after comprehending non-bird features does the eyewitness realize it’s a non-bird.

She also said, “I watched it fly from North to South . . . about 30 seconds. . . . noticing what looked like a long tail with a barbed object at the end that was slightly tucked under as it flew.” She also told me that the creature was carrying another animal in its talons. The prey (carried in the feet of the flying creature) may have been as heavy as ten pounds but probably not larger. The eyewitness believes this was why the larger creature was flying so slowly.

Comparing the two Pterosaur Sightings

The 2010 and 2012 sightings were both in the same neighborhood in Lakewood, CA. More than that, they were in almost exactly the same place with flyovers possibly over the same houses. In the first sighting, however, the creature was flying slowly parallel to the storm channel; in the second, it was flying fast over the storm channel.

The slow flight in the first sighting appeared to have been from the creature struggling with a heavy load it was carrying; the fast flight in the second, from the creature becoming frightened by the eyewitness and flying away.

Both reports included descriptions of a long tail with a structure at tail-end, the first eyewitness calling it a “barbed object at the end” and the second calling it a “triangle.” Both women thought of the word “dragon” during or immediately after their sightings.

Long-tailed feather-less ropen-like  flying creatures have been reported  around the world, including states  in the U.S.A.

Pterosaur Sightings in Los Angeles

In two separate sightings, two eyewitnesses in Los Angeles, California, reported flying creatures described like pterosaurs. The sightings were a little over a mile apart . . .
